Will Be A Short Note

Hi all viewers, if any!!!!  Daughter-in-law is coming along pretty good. Her church put on a benefit for her.  It was well attended and she could view the procedings thru the Skype Site our son set up for her.  We, wife and I will be headed for Milwaukee with the senior center. They quite often get a bus load of senior citizens and we head off for a Casino. We leave at 8 a.m. tomorrow along with many friends and I hope once I lose my shirt I will enjoy watching everone else possibly do the same.  We have gone on these day trips and a few overnight trips with the seniors quite often and enjoyed them.  We also have met many new friends in these trips. Speaking of trips, I slipped on the ice comming out of Church Saturday evening.  Fell on my right elbow bone, not a pleasant experience. Many people leaving the church yard stopped to help but I waved them on, dummy that I can be at times.  It, the elbow, is some what swollen and very sore, good thing I will only have to push buttons and not have to pull the handles on the penney slot machines.  Better call it a night.        lucky 13 signing off

2013-First Post Of This Year

Yes another year has gone bye-bye and a new and probably an exciting year arrived. Very unusual but I never even saw the New Year baby.  Usually alot of ads and other media promote the New Year Cartoon Baby, however, this year if it was out there I missed it.  The new year so far has been as exciting, stressfull and busy as the last few months of the past year.  Our two new great grandskids are doing good so all is well on that front.  D-I-L is still in the U W Hospital but is in good spirits.  We visited her yesterday and she was smiling and very talk-a-tive.  Enjoyed that visit with her and seeing how good she looked.  Guess I will wrap this up for this entry and will try to update again soon.

Been A While

Yes it has been way too long since I last posted.  A lot has happened in our families life.  Don't recall if I wrote about our first great grand child, born in October than a few weeks ago our second great grand was born in Minnesota.  So now we have two great grand daughters. 

Our daughter-in-law had her liver transplant, it was fine until a few days later she developed a blood clot in an artery.  She than had to have another liver transplant.  This was a few weeks ago and she has finally, today in fact had the last tube removed from her body.  Actually this last tube was a tube in her neck and she could not talk.  We talked to her today on the phone and it was good to hear her voice.  We had not seen her since we visited her in the hospital on Christmas Day. 

Yesterday, Sunday the 30th of December we had our family Christmas at our house.  Yes it was loud but it was also a great time.  Bill could not attend as he was staying overnight and then spending the day with Lori in the Hospital.  Kurt and Mark drove down from South Dakota with their 4 dogs.  Mark also brought me a 12 pack of Alaska beer. The dogs remained in their truck except for a few runs in our fenced in area of our backyard.  It was good to have everyone over.  Our granddaughter from Minnesota and her hubby and daughter could not make the trip either but she phoned and her presence in this manner was a pleasant treat for all of the family.

Well it is very late in fact I just missed the New Year, guess I was too interested in thinking about this post to give the New Year much thought.

Don't Know What

What!!!What!!!WHAT!!!andWhy!!!Why!!!WHY!!!don't my brilliant writings show up on this blog. Last week I wrote about our bus trip with the local Senior Center to Oneida Casino in Green Bay, Wisconsin then continue on to the Island Resort and Casino in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Not any luck at the slot machines but a lot of good company on the bus ride and in the casinos. The room at the Island Casino was comfortable as was the bed.  The room was clean and we had a great view of the surrounding area. Our room was located on the 5th floor and overlooked the parking lot, the camping area, the busy highway and a large forest. The sunrise was just a beautiful sight.

Not much more to report so I will sign off now. Still don't know why last weeks report didn't show up let's see if this one will.

New Great Grand Daughter

Very early this morning we got the news, our grand  daughter had a baby girl. This is our first great grand child. Mother and baby are doing fine. Not sure of her name. Not sure if this is official but our Son-In-Law e-mailed us and called her Elli, that's good enough for me. I'll call her Elli and shortly she can call me gramps. I like it.

Want to head for Facebook now to see if I can track down one of our grandsons who is in Rome attending college. Hope I can find his  a note from him there or maybe he wrote something on his blog.
