Thanksgiving Day

These were the beers we enjoyed.
Thursday November 24, 2011

Yesterday we celebrated Thanksgiving Day, started off visiting our daughter, son-in-law and 2 young granddaughters in Madison and then continued to another daughters home near Lodi. When we arrived there our oldest granddaughter and her husband as well as her parents had already arrived with two of their younger children. We sat and enjoyed the Packers victory over Detroit while enjoying a few beers. After the game another of our daughters and her husband arrived and our GD and her hubby left for his parents house. Soon two of our grandsons arrived, they were working at a grocery store til it closed. We then sat down and to a delicious Thansgiving meal with all its trimming as well as a great desert. After some conversation we excused ourselves and headed for home before complete darkness covered the roads.

Hope everyone who celebrates this holiday has as enjoyable day as we had.

Just A Few Notes

Just thought that I would drop into the blog and make a few notes. Nothing of great importance, just something so I could post this picture that I took from a few miles from our house. These hay bales are located at a farm that also has Corn Row paths to follow in the fall and other things for children to become acquainted with farm life and to have some fun at the same time.

Weather was great today but we are waiting for the big snow storm or the big freeze. We moved our T@B camper today so that we can cover it with a tarp for the winter months. I hope the weather will hold for a few days so that I can get a little work done around the outside yard. My legs have been giving me a problem but I hope that the compression stockings will take care of the leather like skin on my lwer legs and the swelling of both legs. Am taking it easy but have to get some of the outside work done. A windy day today and a lot of the hanger-on leaves decorate our lawn once again. I guess the rake still fits in my hands.

Enough for now, LUCKY 13

Pumpkin Beer

Before I start on Pumpkin Beer I want to remember my favorite TV personality. Rest Easy Andy Rooney, I will miss your ramblings. You made 60 Minutes my favorite news show.

Back in the 50's and into the middle 60's part of my job was beer tasting. In those years I tasted many beers, from Wisconsin and all the states, from England, Japan, Poland and from around the world. Tasted rice beer, barley beer, all kinds of beer but never pumpkin beer. It just doesn't sound good to me. I don't care for pumpkin pie so that may be part of the story. The rest of the story, you can guess by now, yes, I will be going out and shopping for a 6 or 12 pack of Pumpkin Beer. If I come across this product I would not at all be surprised if it showed up at a certain camping trip in July. Carefull all you South Shoto campers, you never know what flavor will turn up in your beer mug.

Just Ramblings

Trying once again to post pictures. In the meantime I will just ramble on. The one picture I am trying to post now is a view of fall colors in Wisconsin. If the first picture posts I will try to post a picture of a rainbow I took as my wife drove so I could take these photographs.

I will have to look back to see if the picture of our new oak floor in the kitchen-dining room posted a few weeks ago. Boy its November already, soon the snow will fly. We have had a pretty pleasant fall and although the past few days have been very very chilly we are to have temperatures in the mid 50's for the week-end. Hope the weather persons will have this forecast right.

Will have to check back on the last few posts if I wrote about the latest beers that I tasted. Also have another ale in the refrigerator that my daughter brewed. The last brews of hers I tasted definitely got my seal of approval.

Again I wll not edit this post I will just hit publish post and hope the pictures do post.
