Big Flats beer

Big Flats beer is only sold at Walgreens Drug Stores. I have stopped into our local Walgreens once or twice a week for about a month to try this beer. So far they have been out of stock each time I stop in. I think the fella I see around the cooler area hides each time I come in so he won't have to check the cooler to see if there is a six pack just setting on the floor waiting for me to pick it up.

Sleep Tight Nelli

These are our three pups that we had thru the years.

Thursday February 17, 2011 we had to put our dachshund Nelli to sleep. She was a great friend for us and also for our neighbors. When our daughter brought her to us I did not want her but Sweetmama wanted another pup, so I gave in. Well that little gal really took over my life. She would come upstairs with me and help me write to various groups on the web and on ocassion she might add some words of wisdom to these groups. Later she was content to sit with me and watch the news and other programs on TV. We miss her, her bark, her begging, her visits to the neighbors to see if they perhaps had a few extra Bonz that they would not mind giving to her.

Our first pup was Zelda, she was the protector for our family and mostly our children. Then came Moga, she was a very independent pup. Her only buddy was the large dog next door. Sadie would play with her and then they were both happy. Then Nelli, all the pups were special but Nell was extra SPECIAL.

Basketball Game

Love this style of architecture. Winter scenery on the ride to the game.

Drove to see our Grandson playing some 3rd grade basketball. We hadn't seen any games in this age group for sometime as there is quite a difference in our grandchildren ages. It was a real treat to see these youngsters in game mode again. They play hard not always in step with the games rules but the ref just let them play. From the action on the floor the players will all sleep good tonight.

Each team only had 6 players. Each team had both boys and girls as players and the coachs were teachers from their school. Their school is formed from 2 small villages and the school has grades Kindergarten to 12th grade all in one building. It is quite interesting. We have had 3 grandchildren graduate from this school and 3 more are coming up thru the grades.

Back to the game, our team won 20 to 12 and our grandson played a good game. He handled the ball pretty good and was very good attacking the ball when the opponent had the ball. He also must have taken approximately 35 shots, many shots were in and out of the rim. Hope to go to see his team play more games.

Drinks, Food For Super Bowl

Just a few words on the food and drink consumed while viewing on TV the University of Wisconsin basketball game victory over Michigan State and the Packer Super Bowl victory over the Pittsburg Steelers. All this happened after I shoveled the snow off the driveway.
UW game I had a Milwaukee Best by Miller Brg. An inexpensive beer
but with a O.K. taste. Would not like to spend an afternoon imbibing in this product.

First half of the Packer game I enjoyed a Leinkugel, I always enjoy a cool Leinies.

Second half of the Packer-Steeler Super Bowl Game I opened up a bottle of Irish Stout. I usually do not go overboard for a dark beer but this was one fine tasting brew. This bottle of Irish Stout was brewed by my daughter. I have another bottle of a later brew she cooked up and am looking forward to a time when I am real thirsty to open this bottle. She is now in the process of fermenting another batch.

Potato chips, pretzels, pizza and egg rolls were the finger foods of the day. A dish of Ice Cream was served during the half time festivities.

Super Bowl Sunday-What Beer To Choose

Super Bowl tomorrow and I have to decide which breweries products I should taste. I have an assortment of both foreign and domestic beers in the refrigerator and tomorrow is decision time. Always decisions, decisions. I am sure I will make a wise choice.

Weather Report And More News

What A Question. Of course it is?

Again just a short note to say that we made it thru the storm and now await the cold freezing temperatures. Also will add the ground hog day report. Fantastic journalism just stay tuned.

Ended up with about 20 inches of the powdered white stuff. That's over 3 days. Day 1 about 2 inches, day 2 about 6 inches and today day three about 12-14 inches of the powdery snow. Yes truly glad for the snowthrower. At the end of the driveway where the snowplow pushes the snow from the street, Sweetmama would knock it down with the shovel and then the big man, ME, would gobble that powdery white fluff with my faithful snowblower blasting it on the neighbors driveway. Not really, but like to pretend that I could be that mean.
No shadow for this humble animal from Pennsylvania. There will be more weather till the end of time

My little buddy on Hy 89 just north of Fort Looking out our front window this late afternoon.

Just a quick note on the weather. It is snowing and blowing outside. Lots of snow coming down and gusts of winds are about 40 miles an hour. Lots of swirling snow out there. Snow has been falling on and off all day but I only had to shovel about 6 inches of the stuff today. Don't tell anybody but I used the snowblower, not the shovel. But I actually did a little bit with the shovel also. That should clear that up. Tomorrow it will be closer to 15 inches if the weather people on TV are correct.
