We went for a ride today to Ottawa Lake State Park. It was a pleasant day for a ride and we figured if a park ranger was there we would buy our 2012 Park Sticker. The park was open but the Ranger Station at the park was closed. We remembered that a few years ago we had visited a museum run by the Park Ranger and we headed for that to see if it was open. Lucky for us it was open and we purchased our park sticker for the car. As you can see from the photo the area is hilly and lots of sharp curves in the road. You can also see from the picture the lack of snow in the area. Enjoyed the ride and the sunny day.

Watched the Super Bowl until 6o minutes came on then switched to that for the hour. We missed the half time show but I'm sure we will see many of the commericals rebroadcast for the next few days. After 60 Minutes was off went back to the ball game and was satisfied with the final score. Enjoyed a brew during the game. A 16 oz Schlitz. Hadn't had a Schlitz in a long time. It was enjoyable and tasted alot better than the Milwaukee Best that I have been drinking.

The picture hasn't posted yet I will wait a few minutes and if it doesn't post so be it. It shows it is posting but it is not showing up, will try another day to post it.

  1. We didn't really ride thru the park. We talked to a couple who had just loaded there husky dogs in their SUV. They had 4 huskies and they were pulling the couple in a wheeled sled on the plowed roads in the park. Not enough snow on the ground for the real sleighs. They apparently raise the dogs and they said the dogs love to pull the sled.
We didn't actually ride any further than the ranger office, so don't know if any sites had campers. As the people were loading their SUV with the dogs and sled they sort of blocked the road that was open.

How much snow did you get this week, we only got about 3" of the fluffy stuff. Shoveled the driveway and part of the neighbors with Marys help. More snow on the way this week they say.
